Whitney Elizabeth Houston was conceived in a musical family on 9 August 1993, in Newark New Jersey. Whitney is the cousin of daughter to singing superstar Dionne. In Newark, Whitney began singing with the choir of the church when she was a young child. When she was 15 years old, she joined her mom in the background vocals for Chaka's smash Im Every Woman from 1978. Her mother, Jermaine, and Lou Rawls were a few of the artists she backed up. Also, she was a model for Seventeen Magazine in 1981. Her first gig was as a lead singer for The New York-based New York Funk band Material. Her vocal quality work earned her the attention of big record labels like Arista who signed her in 1983. Whitney Houston's debut Whitney Houston album was released in 1985. It became one of the most successful album by a musician. The album came out with several hits like Saving all My Love for You How Do You Know You're a Good Person And The More Love of All. This helped her achieve seven US Top Ones consecutively. The singer beat the Beatles. The album sold 3 million copies during its first album's first year of release in the US as well as achieve a worldwide sales of 25 million, earning it the very first one of six Grammies. The album that followed it in 1987 Whitney featuring the hit songs What Do Broken Hearts Go and I Wanna Dance With Somebody built the foundation of her popularity, however it was the 1992 film The Bodyguard (1992) that sealed her place as one of the top-selling performers ever. The Bodyguard's performance as a film and its soundtrack were not appreciated but the Dolly Parton cover I Will Always Love You as well as the album accompanying it were top of the charts across the world for months. When she gave birth to her daughter Bobbi she married Bobby Brown of the ex-New Edition group. At this point that her widely documented substance abuse began. By 1996, she was a regular drug user.
Dana Bash or Dana Ruth Schwartz in the way she's well-known as, is an American anchorwoman reporter as well as CNN's political anchorwoman and political correspondent.
